Scientific Research Division
The Scientific Research Division (SRD) at Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUCA) is the university’s central unit responsible for coordinating and supporting scientific activity. It serves as a hub for research development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and academic excellence across the university.
The SRD coordinates a wide range of research activities encompassing fundamental, applied, and experimental studies in architecture, construction, engineering, urban planning, environmental technologies, and related disciplines. The division oversees the planning and implementation of research projects, facilitates cooperation among research institutes, laboratories, and centers, and ensures that scientific work meets established academic and methodological standards.
In addition, the SRD promotes the practical implementation of research results, supports knowledge transfer and innovation, and encourages the participation of KNUCA researchers in national and international scientific initiatives. Through these activities, the division contributes to the university’s mission of generating innovative solutions, advancing scientific knowledge, and strengthening KNUCA’s position as a leading institution in the fields of construction and architectural sciences.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating and organizing scientific and technical activities of university departments and research units.
- Planning, monitoring, and reporting on fundamental and applied research projects.
- Supporting knowledge transfer, commercialization, and the integration of research outcomes into Ukrainian and international markets.
- Organizing scientific conferences, workshops, and student research competitions to promote academic engagement.
- Developing research plans, budgets, and statistical reports related to the university’s scientific activities.

- Support for young researchers and the development of new scientific schools.
- Training of highly qualified research and academic staff.
- Expansion of international and national scientific cooperation for technological innovation.

- Modernization and efficient use of the university’s experimental and research infrastructure.
Research Infrastructure
The Scientific Research Division coordinates the activities of the university’s research units, which include:
- five research institutes
- six research laboratories
- seven research centers
- Certification Body “SEPROBUDKDTUBA” for construction products
Each unit operates in accordance with regulations approved by the Rector, which define its structure, leadership, and responsibilities.
