Governance Structure
Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture operates under a well-defined governance system that ensures effective management, academic excellence, and compliance with national higher education standards.
The University is headed by the Rector, who exercises overall leadership, strategic planning, and institutional representation. The Rector is supported by Vice-Rectors, each responsible for specific areas, including academic affairs, research and innovation, international cooperation, and administrative and financial activities.
The central collegial governing body is the Academic Council of the University, which determines the main directions of educational, scientific, and methodological activities. The Academic Council approves academic programmes, curricula, research priorities, and key regulatory documents, and oversees quality assurance processes.
Operational and academic activities at the faculty level are managed by Faculty Academic Councils, which coordinate educational programmes, research work, and methodological support within each faculty. Departments (Chairs) serve as the primary academic units responsible for teaching, research, and academic staff development.
The University also includes specialized bodies such as the Scientific and Technical Council, which coordinates research and innovation activities, and the Methodological Council, responsible for the development and improvement of educational standards and teaching methods.
Quality assurance is supported through internal systems aligned with national and European standards, ensuring continuous monitoring and enhancement of educational processes.
Student participation in governance is ensured through Student Self-Government Bodies, which represent student interests, contribute to decision-making, and support student initiatives across academic and social spheres.
This governance structure ensures a balance between academic autonomy, effective administration, and stakeholder participation, supporting the University’s mission and long-term development.
